About

Useful technology. Honest by design.

Jesus Afkerian operates under the AFKERIAN INTERACTIVE brand as an independent studio creating practical apps, thoughtful digital tools, games, and interactive experiences with care, clarity, and respect for the people who use them.

I build tools that solve real problems and experiences that invite curiosity. My work is guided by a simple idea: technology should help people without asking for blind trust. Every product should explain what it does, why it needs a permission or service, and how it supports its continued development.

I want every interaction to feel considered, useful and worthy of your trust. When something changes, my responsibility is to explain it clearly, correct inconsistencies and continue improving.

Principles

How I build.

Trust is part of the product. I favor local processing for sensitive working content when it is practical, minimize unnecessary data use, explain third-party services plainly and avoid manipulative design. When a product uses network services, advertising, analytics or crash reporting, I say so.

Respect for people

Products should respect people's time, attention, work and choices.

Local-first where verified

When practical and technically verified, sensitive working content such as scans, documents, OCR output, QR values and barcodes is processed locally. Local-first does not mean that every product is fully offline or has no network services.

Data minimization

I aim to collect or transmit only what an implemented feature or disclosed third-party service needs.

Honest disclosure

I distinguish user-created content from consent communications, advertising, analytics, crash reporting and website hosting.

User agency

Available settings and choices should be easy to find and described without suggesting controls that do not exist.

Responsible advertising

Advertising should not interrupt scanning, editing, saving, exporting or the protection of unsaved work.

No manipulative design

I avoid language and interactions that pressure, shame or deceive people into consenting, viewing an ad or changing a privacy choice.

Accessibility and clarity

Privacy, terms, advertising and third-party information should be readable, understandable and easy to reach.

Product Support

How I keep building.

Some of my free products are supported by carefully limited advertising. I believe that tradeoff should be visible and understandable, not hidden in fine print. Each product explains where advertising appears, which third-party services are involved and what choices are available.

Different products, clear models

Not every Jesus Afkerian product uses the same business model. Product pages and legal documents describe the model currently implemented for each title.

QR Decoder

QR Decoder may show an anchored adaptive banner only on its Home screen, occasional interstitial ads only on eligible module-to-Home exits and a voluntary rewarded ad. Earning the reward provides exactly 60 minutes without banner or interstitial advertising.

Ads do not appear while scanning, editing, saving or exporting. Advertising failures do not block navigation or destroy work.

The 60-minute benefit changes banner and interstitial availability. It does not disable UMP consent services, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, the voluntary rewarded entry point or all network activity. The implementation remains pending owner configuration, regional runtime QA, Google Play disclosure reconciliation and legal review; this is not a claim of production readiness or legal approval.
