1. KEY POINTS

QR Decoder: Scan & PDF Tools (the “App”) is published by Jesus Afkerian, an individual operating under the AFKERIAN INTERACTIVE brand (“AFKERIAN INTERACTIVE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The App contains software and other material made by others. This document lists that material, the license each part is under, and the file where the full notice or license text appears.

- Google provides the App's advertising, consent, analytics, crash reporting, scanning and device-connection services under Google's own terms.
- Open-source libraries provide features such as PDF editing, Office documents, archives, QR code creation and the user interface. The App reads RAR archives with UnRAR, which is freeware under its own license. Each component remains under its own license.
- Where a license requires it, the full license text or NOTICE file is reproduced in a separate file listed below.
- If this document and an open-source license differ, the license controls for that component.
- These notices give attribution and license information. They do not change the App's Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.


2. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THIS DOCUMENT COVERS

AFKERIAN INTERACTIVE develops the App and is responsible for these notices. Jesus Afkerian is the founder and owner of AFKERIAN INTERACTIVE. We are located in Florida, United States, and you can reach us at afkerian.support@gmail.com.

This is version 2.4 of these notices. This document lists the components in the version of the App that contains it. The separate files named below are part of this document. They are available at https://afkerianinteractive.com/qr-decoder/third-party-notices.html and, in versions of the App that include this document, in the App under Settings, then Legal & Licenses, then Third-Party Notices.

Version 1.3.0 (build 8) of the App included Apache POI 5.5.1 (poi, poi-ooxml and poi-ooxml-lite), Apache XMLBeans 5.3.0, Apache Commons Codec 1.20.0, Apache Commons Collections 4.5.0, Apache Commons IO 2.21.0 and Bouncy Castle 1.72 instead of the versions listed below, and did not include XZ for Java, UnRAR or Zstandard.

3. GOOGLE SERVICES AND LIBRARIES

These components are proprietary software that Google LLC distributes under the Android Software Development Kit License (https://developer.android.com/studio/terms) and the service terms named in each notice file.

- Google Mobile Ads SDK 25.5.0, advertising ID library 18.0.0, App Set ID library 16.0.1, User Messaging Platform 4.0.0 and Google Play inline install library 2.0.1. Notice: AD_SERVICES_NOTICE.txt.
- Firebase Android BoM 35.1.0, Google Analytics for Firebase 24.0.0, Firebase Crashlytics 21.0.1, Firebase Sessions 4.0.1, Firebase Installations 20.0.0, and the Firebase and Google data transport libraries they use. Notice: FIREBASE_NOTICE.txt.
- ML Kit Barcode Scanning 17.3.0 (with barcode-scanning-common 17.0.0 and play-services-mlkit-barcode-scanning 18.3.1), ML Kit Text Recognition 16.0.1 with its bundled Latin-script models (with text-recognition-bundled-common 17.0.0, play-services-mlkit-text-recognition 19.0.1 and play-services-mlkit-text-recognition-common 19.1.0), the ML Kit common libraries (common 18.11.0, vision-common 17.3.0, vision-interfaces 16.3.0 and com.google.android.odml:image 1.0.0-beta1), and the ML Kit Document Scanner 16.0.0 (Google Play services). - Google Play services Nearby 19.5.1. Notice: GOOGLE_NEARBY_NOTICE.txt.
- Google Play services base 18.5.0, basement 18.9.0, tasks 18.4.0 and stats 17.0.2, which the libraries above use. They are covered by the Android Software Development Kit License.

Google's libraries listed above include open-source components of their own, such as Protocol Buffers, Abseil, TensorFlow, ICU4C, zlib and libjpeg-turbo. Google publishes their license notices inside each library. GOOGLE_SDK_OPEN_SOURCE_NOTICES.txt and its five parts (GOOGLE_SDK_OPEN_SOURCE_NOTICES_PART_1.txt to GOOGLE_SDK_OPEN_SOURCE_NOTICES_PART_5.txt) reproduce those notices exactly as Google distributes them.


4. COMPONENTS WITH THEIR OWN NOTICE OR LICENSE FILE

- Apache POI 6.0.0 (poi, poi-ooxml, poi-ooxml-full), Apache XMLBeans 5.4.1 and SparseBitSet 1.3, used for Word documents and spreadsheets. Apache License 2.0. Notice: APACHE_POI_NOTICE.txt.
- Apache Commons Compress 1.28.0, Codec 1.23.0, Collections 4.6.0, IO 2.22.0, Lang 3.18.0 and Math 3.6.1, used by Apache POI and, for Compress, to open 7z and TAR archives. Apache License 2.0, with additional terms for parts of Commons Math. Notice: APACHE_COMMONS_NOTICE.txt.
- Apache Log4j API 2.26.1, required by Apache POI. Apache License 2.0. Notice: LOG4J_NOTICE.txt.
- PdfBox-Android 2.0.27.0 and its bundled Adobe font metrics, Adobe CMaps, Adobe glyph lists, Unicode data files and the Liberation Sans font, used for PDF tools and the PDF editor. Apache License 2.0, with the terms for each bundled resource. Notice: PDFBOX_ANDROID_NOTICE.txt.
- Bouncy Castle bcprov-jdk15to18, bcpkix-jdk15to18 and bcutil-jdk15to18 1.86, used for PDF digital signatures and encrypted PDFs. Bouncy Castle License. License: BOUNCY_CASTLE_LICENSE.txt.
- Liberation Sans Regular font, bundled by PdfBox-Android and embedded in a PDF when you add text to it in the PDF editor. SIL Open Font License 1.1. License: SIL_OFL_1_1_LICENSE.txt.
- ZXing core 3.5.4, used to create QR codes and barcodes. Apache License 2.0. Notice: ZXING_NOTICE.txt.
- Zip4j 2.11.6, used for ZIP archives. Apache License 2.0. Notice: ZIP4J_NOTICE.txt.
- XZ for Java 1.12, used to open 7z archives and XZ-compressed TAR archives. BSD Zero Clause License. License: XZ_JAVA_LICENSE.txt.
- UnRAR 7.23, by Alexander L. Roshal, compiled into the App's native library to open, test and extract RAR archives. The App only reads RAR archives and cannot create them. UnRAR license (freeware), with the BSD license of the Intel Slicing-by-8 CRC32 code that UnRAR uses. License: UNRAR_LICENSE.txt.
- Zstandard 1.5.7, by Meta Platforms, Inc. and affiliates, of which only the decompression code is compiled into the App's native library, to open .zst, .tar.zst and .tzst files. Zstandard is offered under the BSD license or the GNU General Public License, version 2, and the App uses it under the BSD license. License: ZSTD_LICENSE.txt.
- curvesapi 1.08, used by Apache POI. BSD license, and the Apache License 2.0 for one file in it that is marked with that license. Licenses: CURVESAPI_LICENSE.txt and LICENSE_APACHE_2_0.txt.
- OkHttp 4.12.0, Okio 3.9.0 and the Public Suffix List data inside OkHttp, included because the Coil image library depends on them. Apache License 2.0, and Mozilla Public License 2.0 for the Public Suffix List. Notice: OKHTTP_NOTICE.txt.
- Jakarta Dependency Injection API 2.0.1. Apache License 2.0. Notice: JAKARTA_INJECT_NOTICE.txt.
- Checker Framework qualifiers 3.43.0, used by Guava. MIT License. License: CHECKER_FRAMEWORK_LICENSE.txt.
- AndroidX DataStore 1.1.7, whose datastore-preferences-external-protobuf component contains the Protocol Buffers runtime. Apache License 2.0, and BSD-3-Clause for the Protocol Buffers runtime. License: PROTOBUF_LICENSE.txt.
- AndroidX CameraX 1.6.2, whose camera-core component contains native code built with libyuv. Apache License 2.0, and BSD-3-Clause for libyuv. License: LIBYUV_LICENSE.txt.
- desugar_jdk_libs 2.1.5, a subset of OpenJDK libraries added by Android's build tools. GNU General Public License, version 2, with the Classpath Exception. Notice: OPENJDK_DESUGAR_NOTICE.txt.

We reproduce this paragraph of the UnRAR license in full:

UnRAR source code may be used in any software to handle RAR archives without limitations free of charge, but cannot be used to develop RAR (WinRAR) compatible archiver and to re-create RAR compression algorithm, which is proprietary. Distribution of modified UnRAR source code in separate form or as a part of other software is permitted, provided that full text of this paragraph, starting from "UnRAR source code" words, is included in license, or in documentation if license is not available, and in source code comments of resulting package.


5. OTHER OPEN-SOURCE COMPONENTS UNDER THE APACHE LICENSE 2.0

The following components are licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (full text in LICENSE_APACHE_2_0.txt) and do not include a NOTICE file:

- Compose Multiplatform 1.12.0 (Material 3 1.12.0-alpha03), JetBrains Lifecycle 2.9.6, JetBrains SavedState 1.3.6 and JetBrains Markdown 0.7.9, used by RichEditor Compose.
- RichEditor Compose 1.2.1 and Ksoup 0.6.0, by Mohamed Rejeb, used for rich text editing.
- Coil 2.7.0, used to display images from your device, and Accompanist Drawable Painter 0.32.0.
- Guava 33.3.1-android, failureaccess 1.0.2, Error Prone annotations 2.28.0, J2ObjC annotations 3.0.0, AutoValue annotations 1.6.3 and Dagger 2.59, from Google.
- JSR 305 annotations 3.0.2, javax.inject 1 and JSpecify 1.0.0.

- SIL_OFL_1_1_LICENSE.txt: SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1.
- CHECKER_FRAMEWORK_LICENSE.txt: MIT License for Checker Framework qualifiers.
- CURVESAPI_LICENSE.txt: BSD license for curvesapi.

- UNRAR_LICENSE.txt: UnRAR license, with the acknowledgments distributed with the UnRAR source code, including the BSD license of the Intel Slicing-by-8 CRC32 code.

- LIBYUV_LICENSE.txt: BSD-3-Clause license for libyuv.
- GOOGLE_SDK_OPEN_SOURCE_NOTICES.txt and GOOGLE_SDK_OPEN_SOURCE_NOTICES_PART_1.txt to GOOGLE_SDK_OPEN_SOURCE_NOTICES_PART_5.txt: the open-source license notices that Google distributes inside its libraries (Section 3).

The Apache POI, Apache Commons and PdfBox-Android notices also reproduce the MIT, BSD, Adobe and Unicode terms that apply to parts of those components.


7. FONTS, ICONS AND MODELS

- The App's screens use your device's system fonts. The only font file in the App is Liberation Sans Regular, bundled by PdfBox-Android (SIL_OFL_1_1_LICENSE.txt).
- Icons on the App's screens come from Material Icons Extended (Apache License 2.0) or were created for the App.
- The machine-learning models for barcode scanning and text recognition are provided by Google under the ML Kit Terms of Service (GOOGLE_MLKIT_SCANNER_NOTICE.txt).
- The App contains no third-party music, sound effects, voices or video.


8. TOOLS NOT INCLUDED IN THE APP

We use build and test tools, such as the Android Gradle Plugin, the Kotlin and Compose compiler plugins, Kotlin Symbol Processing, the Room compiler, the Google Services and Firebase Crashlytics Gradle plugins, JUnit, AndroidX Test and Espresso. These are used to build and test the App and are not distributed in it, so they are not listed above.

Where a license entitles you to the source code of a component, it is available from the project page given in that component's notice file. OPENJDK_DESUGAR_NOTICE.txt includes our written offer for desugar_jdk_libs.
